In this study you will annotate the argumentation quality of short forum posts. An argumentative text is written on a topic (e.g., Smoking) and has a defined stance (e.g., Smoking is bad for your health), which is defended by fitting claims (e.g., Smoking causes cancer). To support and prove the claims, we use premises (e.g., Research has studdied the positive correlation between smoking and cancer).

Throughout the study you will work with two different types of annotation guidelines. However, you will always be asked to use only one guideline at a time. Please follow the instructions in the respective guideline as closely as possible. After working with each of the guidelines you will be asked to answer a few questions. Make sure to write down your thoughts in the survey, as it would help us in the analysis of the annotation process.
